GIS: Integrated Tree Cropping
Integrated Tree Cropping (ITC) is Australia's largest manager of hardwood plantations with almost 120,000 hectares of plantation under management. Deployment of Digital Mapping Solutions, MobileMap software installed on a Pocket PC device incorporating GPS hardware, the software allows for employees to acquire real-time and GPS-derived data collection when in the field.
Using ITC's base datasets and GPS technology, users now have a simple means of navigation, verification and capture of spatial data and attributes within the plantations.
ITC can become fully SQL compliant by eventually adopting MobileMap and another DMS product. Mobilemap Plus gives ITC staff the ability to access data sourced from the office SQL Server relational database and allows multiple users to modify that data and to input new data captured directly in the field
ITC's strategy is to employ and continuously develop world's best practise plantation forestry management systems. The deployment of DMS' leading edge mapping solutions is aiding this process.
